Howard Y. Bell
President & Founder
Howard has served as President of Sunstone, Inc. since 1995. Sunstone, Inc. was formed in 1983 specifically to develop technology related to rare earth phosphors. To date, Sunstone, Inc. has commercialized this technology in security applications, such as anti-counterfeiting substrates utilized in paper currency, drivers' licenses and apparel, and in optical metrology devices. As such, Howard is an expert in the commercial translation of up-converting phosphor materials for textile authentication applications. Over the years, he has worked closely with a number of Fortune 100 companies and government entities to implement successfully Sunstone technology, including DuPont, Pfizer, The US Treasury, and state drivers license departments.
Thijs Spoor
Chief Financial Officer
Thijs has over 10 years of international experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and imaging industry in sales, marketing and regulatory affairs. Prior to working with Sunstones, Thijs covered medical device and biotechnology stocks at J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse. Thijs received his Pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Columbia University with a concentration in finance and accounting and holds professional memberships in the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
